What is Implant Treatment? In Which Cases Is It Applied?

WHAT IS IMPLANT TREATMENT?

Dental implants are defined as biologically compatible medical screws made of titanium. They are surgically implanted into the jawbone to replace missing teeth.

In today’s dentistry treatment applications, implant-supported restorations are primarily used in the treatment of aesthetics, function and phonation lost by patients.

The bone establishes a tight bond with the implant surfaces and allows them to function like natural teeth. The bite and chewing functions provided with implant-supported fixed prostheses prevent bone resorption by stimulating the bone. In addition, with the use of dental implants, there is no need to reduce the teeth adjacent to the lost tooth and thus the health of natural teeth is preserved.

IN WHICH CASES IS IMPLANT TREATMENT APPLIED?

✔️Single Tooth Deficiency: In case of loss of a single tooth, a single implant can be placed instead of the missing tooth without the need to reduce the teeth on both sides of the missing tooth and a single crown can be placed on it.

✔️Patients who do not prefer removable prosthesis: In the loss of molars, if the back area ends without teeth, a fixed bridge can be made on several implants instead of wearing a removable partial denture.

✔️Partial or Complete Tooth Loss: If more than one tooth is missing, removable or fixed prostheses can be made using implants.

✔️Melted Jaw Bone Problem: Tooth deficiency may cause melting in the jawbone as time passes. In case of jawbone resorption, bone grafting may be required before implant treatment is applied.
